What Information Do We Collect?

  • Personal Information You Provide to Us - We only have access to and collect personal information (such as your name, date of birth, social security number, credit card number, mailing or billing address, telephone number, or email address, and email preferences (collectively, "Personal Information")) that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent your Personal Information to anyone. We are the sole owners of the Personal Information collected on this Site.
  • Information Collected by Automated Means - Whenever you use the Site, we, as well as any of our third-party advertisers and/or service providers, may use a variety of technologies that automatically collect information about how the Site is accessed and used ("Usage Information"). Usage Information may include, in part, browser type, operating system, the page served, the time, how many users visited the Site, and the website you visited immediately before the Site. This statistical data provides us with information about the use of the Site, such as how many visitors visit a specific page on the Site, how long they stay on that page, and which hyperlinks, if any, they "click" on. Usage Information helps us to keep the Site fresh and interesting to our visitors and to tailor content to a visitor's interests. Usage Information is generally non-identifying, but if we associate it with you as a specific and identifiable person, we treat it as Personal Information.
  • Device Identifiers - In the course of collecting Usage Information we may also collect your IP address, MAC Address or other unique identifier (each a "Device Identifier") for the computer, mobile device, Wi-Fi card, or other technology (collectively, "Device") you use to access the Site. A Device Identifier is a number that is automatically assigned to your Device when you access a web site or its servers. Our computers identify your Device by its Device Identifier. • Web Beacons - We may also include web beacons (also known as web bugs, Internet tags, pixel tags, tracking pixels and clear GIFs) with the content and ads that we deliver to you, which we will use to collect information regarding your interaction with our content and ads. A web beacon is a transparent graphic image placed on a web page or in an email, which indicates that a page or email has been viewed or that an email has been forwarded. In addition, a web beacon allows third parties to obtain information such as the IP address of the computer that downloaded the page on which the beacon appears, the URL of the page on which the beacon appears, the time the page containing the beacon was viewed, the type of browser used to view the page, and the information in cookies set by the third party. A web beacon may also tell your browser to get content from another server.

Cookies and web beacons (together, "Site Cookies") may enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our Site, track user actions/behavior on our Site and track the effectiveness of ads.

We also work with a company called ReachLocal, which assists us in advertising our products and/or services. How to Opt-Out of Targeted Advertising

You can set most web browsers to notify you if you receive a cookie, or you may choose to block cookies, though either of those actions may affect the use of our Site. If you prefer to not receive targeted advertising, you can opt out of some network advertising programs that use your information. To do so please visit the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) Opt-Out Page: http://www.aboutads.info/choices/. Please note that even if you choose to remove your information (via opting out), you will still see advertisements while you are browsing online. However the advertisements you see may be less relevant to you and your interests. Additionally, many network advertising programs allow you to view and manage the interest categories they have compiled from your online browsing activities. These interest categories help determine the types of targeted advertisements you may receive. The DAA Opt-Out Page provides a tool that identifies its member companies that have cookies on your browser and provides links to those companies' pages where you can opt-out of receiving targeted advertisements from companies.

While the Site does not currently respond to ‘Do Not Track’ signals submitted by your browser, you can opt out of any of the Advertising Cookies at any time by simply visiting http://www.reachlocal.com/opt-out to adjust your preferences on placement of Advertising Cookies currently used in connection with ReachLocal’s remarketing product. Simple Rules of Etiquette for Video Conferencing

Getting your office automation system set up for video conferencing is just part of the battle. Adhering to etiquette norms for video conferencing will also make your meetings more efficient and effective.

Watch this video to understand some basic rules of video conferencing etiquette. Be sure to test out your camera, mic, and lighting before your meeting to prevent any delays. Office automation is enormously helpful during video conferencing, since it gives you easy access to commercial lighting control systems, should you need to make any adjustments.

TVTI can help you increase productivity while cutting energy costs at your company with our office automation services in Chicago. Contact us today at (312) 265-3760 to let us build a personalized plan for your business.

Ways to Update Your Dated Conference Room

Are you attempting to run a modern business from a conference room that is a blast from the past? Updating your conference room will not only communicate to your customers that you’re ready to do business in today’s marketplace, but it will also help your business run more efficiently. If you’re wondering what kind of updates you should make to your conference room for the maximum benefits, consider these upgrades.

Light Automation

Being able to easily adjust the lighting in your conference room is a game changer. With a click, dim your lights for a presentation and then bring them back up for discussion, with precision every time. Easily make a change if there is a glare on a screen or to develop the perfect backlighting for a video conference. With light automation integrated into your overall conference room design, you won’t lose valuable time or break up the conversation with awkward light adjustments.

Video Conference Technology

Lighting automation will make it easy to make video conferencing part of your business. When you use video conferencing tools, your clients and coworkers are never more than a few clicks away, no matter the actual distance between you. With modern video conferencing technology in your conference room, you can slash your travel budget and avoid the inefficiencies of long distance travel by having meetings virtually rather than in person.

Motorized Window Treatments

Allowing natural light into your conference room can boost your employees’ mood and efficiency, but too much of it can cause glares on computer screens, presentation screens, and personal devices. Motorized window treatments allow you to adjust your shades and blinds remotely, instead of trying to get up and down to raise and lower them.

Let a TVTI consultant come to your workplace to evaluate your current conference room and make suggestions for changes that can help you get the most out of your space. Set up an appointment with an office automation expert in Chicago today by calling (312) 265-3760.

Tour a Smart Condo in NYC

Smart home systems aren’t about installing buttons everywhere in your home. They’re about making your home more livable. Find out how an NYC condo owner adopted home automation to improve the functionality of her space without compromising the design aesthetic in this video.

Because minimalist design is so important to this homeowner, she was reluctant to have a system installed that would leave her with multiple buttons and control panels all over the walls. Thanks to the Control 4 system, she can control her music, lights, blinds, and temperature without giving up any of her design aesthetic.

Hit the Greens Inside This Winter with a Full Swing Golf Simulator

Winter can be rough on golf fans, when courses are too cold and snow-covered to let you get a round in. Fortunately, with a smart home system, you could get the thrill of being on the greens without having to brave the elements. The Full Swing Golf Simulator, used by PGA professionals and golf training schools, can now be yours with your home automation system, so your swing doesn’t fall off track in the winter months. Here is a look at what you need to know:

What is the Full Swing Golf Simulator?

The Full Swing Golf Simulator brings the experience of playing at the world-renowned St. Andrews Golf and Country Club to your home. The simulator combines a strikingly realistic visual experience with information about your swing to help you hone your game. This system is used by professionals and top training schools but has traditionally been out of the price range of home users. Now, you can include the simulator in your smart home system, so you can use the same tools as professional players to hone your skills.

What information can the simulator provide about my swing?

The Full Swing Golf Simulator includes an internal infrared tracking system and a propriety, high-speed camera system that allows it to read information about your swing more accurately than any other golf simulator on the market. With each swing, you will receive a detailed report on the ball’s flight, speed, direction, and launch angle. You can use this information to experiment with different types of swings and identify where your strokes are going wrong so you can improve your game.

What other benefits does the simulator offer?

You don’t only get information about how effective your swings are, but you can actually see them fly over different areas of the course to get a realistic perspective of how your game looks in real life. You can also make the grounds of the course undulate to simulate inclines that you are likely to encounter on a real course.

Take your golf game to the next level this winter with the help of TVTI. Our home automation systems in Chicago can be personalized to include all of the features that mean the most to you. Find out more about automation design by calling (312) 265-3760.

Can Smart Lighting Improve Your Health?

You know the smart lighting features of your home automation system make your lights more convenient to use, but did you know that they could also make you healthier? Your interior lights have a surprisingly extensive effect on your wellbeing, and smart lighting makes it easier to harness the healing benefits.

Light temperature—the amount of blue or yellow wavelengths in lights—can impact your sleep cycle. Cool lights, which have more blue, make you more alert, while warm lights, with more yellow, stimulate melatonin production, which helps you sleep. Using color-changing bulbs that you can set to switch at different times of day lets you take advantage of lighting temperature. You can also use your smart lighting to easily adjust different lights according to your needs, such as turning up the kitchen lights while you cook and dimming them so you can relax as you eat.

At TVTI, we can help you design a smart home in Chicago that includes all of the features you want, from smart lighting to climate control. Start designing your home automation system today by calling (312) 265-3760.

Using automated climate control features, you will be able to adjust the settings of your thermostat when you are away. Remote control over your HVAC system will offer you the peace of mind that comes from knowing that your heating and cooling system is operating as efficiently as possible.

Is Home Automation a Solution for Seniors?

Aging in place is popular for more and more elderly people, and modern technology is making it easier. If you have an elderly relative who wishes to remain at home for as long as possible, you may want to consider installing some home automation upgrades. Far from being difficult to control or understand, your smart home features will provide safety, security, and convenience to your family member. Let’s review some home automation features that are suited for seniors.

Web Monitoring

You may not have the time in your schedule to physically check on your elderly relative in person, every single day. With web monitoring solutions, you can wirelessly check on your loved one, from the comfort of your home or office. Web monitoring systems can automatically track your relative’s activities, and can also automatically check to see whether doors and windows have been locked and secured properly.

Voice Controls

Seniors who experience limited mobility may have trouble navigating their homes after dark. The chances of slips and falls increase dramatically without proper indoor and outdoor lighting. When you install a home automation system in your loved one’s home, you can include voice controlled lighting that can be turned on from any location in the house.

IFFT Programs

IFFT stands for “If This, Then That,” and this type of programming can be used to keep your elderly loved one safe when he or she is home along. Using an IFFT system, you can receive alerts when the home’s security system is activated or an exterior door is left ajar. A home automation technician can also program an IFFT system to respond to vocal or physical cues from your family member.

For additional information about how home automation in Chicago can help your relative, contact TVTI by calling (312) 265-3760. From wireless security cameras to climate control and more, we offer a range of systems that will be perfectly suited for your home.
